How to Enjoy Your Favourite Hobbies in Liverpool

admin · July 7, 2022 · Leave a Comment

If you’re new to Liverpool, or passing through for a stop, you might be wondering where you can go to indulge your favourite hobby. The city is attractive to visitors due to its thriving culture. That means it’s got everything you need to keep you engaged in your favourite time passers. Take a look at our suggestions on how to make that old hobby feel like new in Liverpool.

Music lovers

Liverpool is a city that loves its music. Manchester might have dibs on being the music capital of Britain, but Liverpool is the music fan capital of Britain. That is proven well enough by the statues and sculptures of Liverpool icons littering the streets and decorating the buildings like hipster gargoyles. Except rather than scaring you, these sculptures encourage you to hit up one of the many bars and clubs in the city.

Of course, a lot of the statues are dedicated to The Beatles, with Eleanor Rigby sitting on a bench down an alley, and the four of them wandering down the dock, but there is also Cilla Black, and Billy Fury. And if you look up from The Fab Four statue, you’ll find the British Music Experience, which is a museum dedicated to everything music and British. It’s like a Hard Rock Café on steroids, with Elton John’s shoes, Geri Halliwell’s British flag dress, Oasis original lyrics, and plenty more memorabilia to admire.

Arts lovers

If you are on the hunt for some inspiration in Liverpool, an art fan can’t go wrong with visiting the Walker Art Gallery: the national art gallery in the north. The gallery pulls together a collection of medieval, renaissance, baroque, and modern art displays. With 15 rooms to explore, you’ll never see everything in one go.

But maybe you’ve got your motivation, you simply want to start painting. That’s fine. Liverpool can provide. You can find lots of art stores and classes around the city. Load up on easels and paintbrushes to storage in Liverpool and pull them out whenever you need them. Storing your equipment can let you get involved with arts that might require something bulkier, like weaving, sculpting, or pottery. Stick it in a storage unit safe from theft and the elements and pull it out when you are ready to continue with your go at Michelangelo’s David.

Dance lovers

Maybe you love music, but you don’t want to just gawk at the items of music history. You want to get involved. Can Liverpool supply?

Scousers would laugh at you. Liverpool has a thriving nightlife, not least boosted by the world’s love of The Beatles, but there is plenty to enjoy beyond that. Sure, you’re going to find a lot of Beatles-themed bars and clubs, like the Cavern Club, but also bars that feature the latest talent, the hottest hits, and the best dancing environments, like Salt Dog Slims that loves all things indie rock.

Fitness lovers

And if you like being active, you can take that idea and run with it in Liverpool. Shaking what your mama gave you isn’t the only way to have fun and keep fit in Liverpool.

You can get a lot of good laughs, and maybe some aggression out by having a game of bubble football. Oh, come on! Liverpool is famed for its football team and football fans. Adding bubble suits into the mix can only be better.

And then there is the UK’s largest inflatable park, Velocity Widnes. Don’t scoff. No matter your age or ability you will find a reason to bounce around to your hearts content in this venue that features a ball pool.
