Hurray, it’s the first of July, which not only means the start of the second half of the year and a new month, but it also means it’s my birthday. Today it’s my own birthday and in a few weeks it’ll be A Fantastical Librarian’s third anniversary. So it’ll be a celebratory month here at A Fantastical Librarian, but more on that later. First let’s look back at June. I was rather worried that my having to go back to work four days a week would impact my productivity on the blog. The good news is, it didn’t as far as the number of posts, the bad news is it did in the fact that I’m getting behind on my planned reading and that means that reviews are a little later than I wanted them to be. But I’m trying not to get stressed about that and be flexible and just chug along and accept that sometimes things won’t work the way I planned them.
Other than a busy month on the blog, it’s been a busy month elsewhere as well. There might be some big changes coming to Casa Librarian (no, no new babies or pets) and we’ve been furiously trying to get everything arranged and okayed etc. It turns out that red tape can be seriously sticky! This didn’t help my planning reading-wise at all, of course. Hopefully by next month’s recap, this will have solidified a bit more and I’ll be able to share our news with you guys.
For now though, time to look at last month’s posts.
In June I reviewed the following books:
The blog featured the following guest posts and interviews:
In my Midkemia Reread I posted the following posts:
I started my Anticipated Books series for the second half of 2013:

Anticipated Books (Summer-Fall) 2013: Fantasy October-December
Anticipated Books (Summer-Fall) 2013: Science Fiction and Horror
Anticipated Books (Summer-Fall) 2013: Fiction
Anticipated Books (Summer-Fall) 2013: Crime and Historical Crime Fiction
Anticipated Books (Summer-Fall) 2013: Historical Fiction July-September
Anticipated Books (Summer-Fall) 2013: Historical Fiction October-December
Anticipated Books (summer-Fall) 2013: Middle Grade Books
And there were the following random posts:
So, as noted, this month is quite a celebratory month. I also have some stuff planned. First of all, I’ll be rounding off my anticipated books posts with my YA lists and my Most Anticipated Reads for the second half of 2013. And once that’s done, it’ll be a week of Pandemonium on the blog as I dedicate a week to the lovely folks of Jurassic London with reviews of two anthologies, two chap books and an interview with Mr. Jurassic London, Jared Shurin. After that, I’ll largely be trying to cram in as much reading as I can, to both catch up with my ever-more teetering review pile and to be able to get a few drafts set up in case I’ll be away from the internet for a bit during my holiday at the beginning of August.
Before I go, just a quick question. With the disappearance of Google Reader, many blogs are setting up a Facebook page for their readers to be able to keep up-to-date with all their posts. I’ve been dithering about doing the same for A Fantastical Librarian and since I can’t make up my mind, I thought I’d ask those for whom the page would be meant, you guys! So what do you think, would you be interested in an A Fantastical Librarian Facebook page? Let me know in the comments! Hopefully I’ll be back later tonight with another review, but otherwise, until tomorrow!
